Waterford, CT – October 21, 2024 – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is excited to partner with Elan Credit Card (Elan) and be a recipient of Elan’s 2024 Charitable Giving program, as highlighted in a recent press release. Elan celebrated International Credit Union Day by donating $15,000 to three credit union partners as part of their efforts to amplify the credit union movement and the value credit unions bring to their communities. Charter Oak Federal Credit Union was one of the selected beneficiaries.
Each credit union was asked to select the organization based on the needs of their community. Charter Oak selected United Way of Southeastern Connecticut to help aid their fight against food insecurity in the community. In addition to Charter Oak, beneficiaries included Desert Financial Credit Union and Northland Area Federal Credit Union.
“On behalf of the board and myself, I want to extend our sincerest thank you for Elan’s support. Their generosity enables us to further assist United Way of Southeastern Connecticut in their fight against food insecurity in our local community,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored to be chosen as a partner,” he said.
