Charter Oak Board Member Achieves Credit Union Development Educator Designation

Published On: July 18th, 2024Categories: News & Events, Press Release

Waterford, CT – July 16, 2024 – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union proudly announces that Annette Janovic, a dedicated member of its Board of Directors, has been designated as a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE), after completing the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Education (DE) program in June 2024. This prestigious designation signifies Janovic’s commitment to advancing credit union principles and philosophy.

The DE Training program, facilitated by the National Credit Union Foundation is an intensive, transformative learning program that provides insights into credit union operations and structure, community involvement, and global development issues. Participants engage in interactive exercises, group projects and speaker sessions to deepen their understanding of the credit union movement and its impact on members and communities.

Janovic completed the DE Training program alongside credit union professionals from around the world.

“Going through the DE Program was a transformative experience. I graduated energized and ready to explore products or services to meet the needs of members and our communities alike,” says Janovic. “Every single person was engaged and worked together in their assigned teams to build awareness of the development issues that prevent not only our members, but a huge population, from achieving financial freedom and how credit unions are uniquely positioned to address those issues,” she says.

“We are thrilled to congratulate Annette on achieving the Credit Union Development Educator designation,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “This accomplishment reflects Annette’s dedication to our credit union’s mission and values, and her commitment to leadership and education in the credit union industry,” he said.

The board and staff extend their warmest congratulations to Annette Janovic for this significant accomplishment.
