Charter Oak Awards $16,500 to Five Organizations

In March, the Grant Committee awarded $16,500 to a total of five organizations. These five organizations were chosen because of their dedication to the community in fostering economic development and social well-being in both New London and Windham Counties.

The five organizations are: Children in Placement, CT Foodshare, Groton Community Meals, Operation Fuel, and UCP of Eastern CT.

Thank you for your dedication to serving our community.

2024 Scholarship Update

Charter Oak’s Scholarship Program has concluded, and we were once again impressed with the many candidates who applied for our individual $2,000 scholarships by our Wednesday, March 13th deadline.

We will award a total of $100,000 in scholarships and will announce the recipients of our annual scholarships in late spring. Thank you to all the students who participated in our 2024 Scholarship Program!

Spring Has Sprung

Winter has passed and spring has arrived! Here are some activities to help shake off the lingering winter blues.

Spend time outdoors – We have been locked up all winter, so it’s time to get outside and go for a walk or a bike ride!

Go to a farmers’ market – Farmers’ markets are starting back up! Support small, local businesses while shopping for all the fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season.

Get Organized – Do some spring cleaning! Get rid of the things you never touch, clean your living space, and put your organizational skills to good use.

Have a picnic – Get a group of friends together and have lunch outside – this is a great way to kick off the season!
