Soup-er Bowl Canned Soup Drive
To celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl, Charter Oak will be hosting a Soup-er Bowl Canned Soup Drive sponsored by Young Leaders United. Two boxes for collection will be placed at each branch – one box for each team in the Super Bowl. Employees and members will predict which team will win the Super Bowl by placing donations in the appropriate box.
Any kind of soup, stew or chili is welcome – please, NO glass jars.
There is also a virtual option! Go to https://www.uwsect.org/virtual-food-drive and select any soup, stew or chili. Make sure to list COFCU on the form section titled: If this is a sponsored Virtual Food Drive, please list the company/group here. Under the Comments/Questions section, write in your Super Bowl favorite to score points for your favorite team.
The Soup-er Bowl Canned Soup Drive will begin on Monday, January 27th, and end on Saturday, February 8th.
Charter Oak Sponsors & Contributes to Chowder Fest
Charter Oak is once again proud to volunteer and sponsor the 20th Annual Cabin Fever: Charity Chowder Cook Off. All proceeds for this event benefit Always Home, a non-profit agency dedicated to preventing family homelessness throughout Southeastern CT.
This year, Chowder Fest will be taking place on Saturday, February 22nd, 12pm – 4pm at the Olde Mistick Village.
If you’re looking to have some fun in the cold weather, come join us at Chowder Fest!
Upcoming Shred Day
Shred Day is back! Charter Oak will be hosting a shred day on Saturday, May 10th at 9am-11am at the following locations:
HQ – 1055 Hartford Turnpike, Waterford, CT 06385
Norwich – 1 Connecticut Ave., Norwich, CT 06360
Dayville – 589 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT 06241
To accommodate as many members as possible, a two-box limit will be enforced. In addition to offering free shredding services, Charter Oak will be collecting non-perishable items for local food pantries.
