Spring Forward
Don’t forget to set your clocks forward on Sunday, March 8th.
Although the time change is an indication that warmer days are ahead, springing forward can also bring on sleep disruptions for some. Consider these following tips to take on the change with ease.
- Get plenty of morning sunlight. Natural light is the strongest cue for resetting your internal clock, so spend time outside whenever you can.
- Avoid screens before bed. The blue light from phones, tablets and TVs can interfere with melatonin production, making it harder to fall asleep. (this is helpful advice any time of the year)
- Stick to a consistent sleep routine. Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day (even on weekends) can help your body adapt faster to the new schedule.
- Make the most of the extra sunlight in the evening. You may feel more motivated to start that spring cleaning or pick up an old hobby. Use the time wisely.
