Charter Oak Awards over $27,000 in Grants
During the second quarter of 2025, Charter Oak received multiple Grant requests. In June, the committee awarded a total of $27,600. Below is the list of recipients:

Concert Night Recap
Our first concert night of the year was a hit! Over 185 people showed up to listen to Red Light and to enjoy some good food and drinks. A special thanks to Red Light, Twin Beaks Chicken and Bar Cart LLC.

Staying Safe in the Summer Sun
Summer is here and the temperature is rising! Here are a few tips on how you and your pets can stay safe.
How to stay cool during warm days*:
- Stay indoors with an AC or fan.
- Take a cool shower or bath.
- Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing.
- Use your oven less to help reduce the temperature in your house.
- If you’re outside, find shade. Wear a hat wide enough to protect your face.
- Stay hydrated.
- Avoid high-energy activities and working outdoors during midday heat.
- Watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Help protect the health of your pets by taking these steps*:
- Ensure your pet has access to plenty of shade and fresh water.
- Check the pavement before you walk your dog.
- Limit outdoor exercise.
- Be especially careful with short-nosed dogs.
- Watch for signs of heat stroke.
- Never leave your dog in the car.
