What’s a better way to start the day than with DONUTS?

That’s exactly how we started our day on June 3rd to celebrate National Donut Day.

Employees were able to choose from an assortment of donuts from a variety of local donut shops. Lucky for us, National Donut Day also landed on Pizza Day!  After loading up on donuts, we enjoyed an afternoon of pizza and socializing with peers. Needless to say, it was a Friday filled with fun and a few delicious carbs!

Summer Kickoff

I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream!

Charter Oak was so excited for summer to start that we had to welcome it with an ice cream social. Ice Cream Emergency, a mobile ice cream parlor, visited all of the branches on June 21st and June 22nd  where we were invited inside the ice cream truck to build our own sundae.

Charter Oak has kicked off the summer with a walking challenge! Employees are competing against each other to be the TOP 6 walkers. The Challenge, which lasts 6 weeks, encourages employees to get up and move. Walkers will have a chance to win small prizes throughout the six weeks, but only the top 6 walkers will be eligible for the big prizes. Stay tuned to find out who will win the walking challenge and what the prizes are!

Giving Back

Charter Oak employees and members wanted to give back to our furry friends in June.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity we were able to donate pet supplies to Pride Rock Rescue in Windham County and the Humane Society in New London County. We were also able to surprise each organization with a check of $423.00!

During our 2022 Shred Day event, on June 11th, we asked members to donate non-perishable food and once again they did not disappoint. Thanks to all the donations we were able to give over 300 lbs. of dry goods to The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut.

Thank you again to all the employees and members who commit to giving back to our community.
